Stroll the county on an Epicurean trek
Take your taste buds for a culinary adventure with one of our Epicurean Treks, taking place on Saturdays from 12-4. Get on your bikes, or start your engines, whatever the case may be, and take one of three tours to discover the best in local farm-gate markets—organic greens and meats, bakers, canners, food artisans, purveyors of all types of food. We have even provided maps so you can design your own path based on your own cravings. Cheese connoisseurs, tea and scones and jam lovers, and maple product hounds have options galore. Look for the “Buy Local Buy Fresh” signs for the best places.
Bring a knife and with the addition of a home-baked loaf, locally cured sausage and a chunk of Cheddar, you’ll have lunch. Or, make your holiday gift-list, put some boxes in the trunk, and load up with local fruit wines, preserves, chutneys, flavoured oils and dried herbs.
We have created a helpful guide to the sweet and savoury culinary artisans in and around Stratford. One of our 3 Epicurean Treks will take you through the autumn drenched colours of our byways and country lanes in search of the perfect foods – your taste buds will thank you.
