Ahhh Stratford…we have been cultivating a local culinary heritage and pleasing palates since 1832. From one of Ontario’s oldest farmer’s markets operating since 1855 to the influential Stratford Chefs School - celebrating its 25th Anniversary, some would say we have been passionate about food longer than we have been for theatre.
Our reputation for culinary creativity and personalities is becoming renowned - three Food Network Canada television series, The Manic Organic, Fink and Chef School feature Stratford chefs while many of Canada’s top chefs offer Perth County organic greens, artisanal cheeses, chutneys, pasture fed organic beef and heritage pork.
Celebrate food this autumn in Stratford and Perth County. Enjoy a variety of savouring and sampling adventures of our local cuisine – from wandering epicurean treks through richly hued pastoral countryside to food festivals, farmers’ markets and a month long celebration in our restaurants of menus featuring local products no more than 75 kms away.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year's festival an amazing success - the farmers, the artisan food producers, the chefs and cooks, the campaigners, the artists and writers, the sponsors, the hospitality providers, the visitors - and not least the many local volunteers who worked flat-out across the weekend to ensure that Stratford remains a by-word for hospitality.
