The rarest of invitations are offered by Amish farmers, craftsmen and their families to visit them every Saturday afternoon in October. This is an intimate opportunity to meet and observe the Amish community and its citizens going about their everyday business.

We don’t have to tell you how lucky you are to have planned a visit for October. You’ll see a unique way of life and culture. You will come to appreciate their skills and how they make their livelihoods – in a world without electric power.

This is so rare an event, we have a couple of rules for you. Use your Sunday manners (even though you’re visiting on Saturdays), respect their private quarters, ask before you even unsnap your camera case if you have permission to take a photograph, and donations are accepted for touring the homes, workshops and farms of the Amish.

Before you come, speak to your friends who ride, or sew, or have weddings or births coming up—you’ll be visiting harness makers, dry good shops, furniture and quilt makers, and who better to buy from than the source?

Information about the 2010 tours will be posted when available.
